What is new where you work, by email at most once a week: building permits, works tenders and contract awards.

A separate subscription. Each permit subscription covers one kind of permit across the whole country; this one covers one circle around where you work, with one email a week.
Draw a circle round where you work. One email every Monday morning with everything inside it: every site where work has started, every building permit granted, every works tender advertised, every contract awarded, every firm that has started up, closed or gone insolvent, and every property certified F or G for energy — the two worst ratings: since 2025 a G-rated home may no longer be let under a new, renewed or tacitly renewed lease, an F-rated one from 2028 (in the overseas departments, G from 2028 and F from 2031).
Across the whole of France
- 143,633building permits in 12 months
- 1,764works tenders in 30 days
- 68%of those tenders give a phone number or email address for the buying authority itself, not for a platform
- 178distinct trades named by the register in the past 30 days
Why a builder reads it
A permit says somebody intends to build. A call for tender says the work is coming and nobody has been hired for it yet — and it names the public body that has to hire someone, with the date the answers are due. The awards say who is working and for whom. The company notices say which firm is in trouble before you quote it work.
Choose your market
In France you can subscribe to: public works, the local market. Everything else on this site is free to browse.
Those permits open in full: what is being built, where, and the business contact where we hold one.

A real issue, exactly as it is sent
This is last week for an ordinary French département, built by the same code that sends the subscription — not an example written to look good. The names, the references and the places are covered over until you subscribe, because that is the part you are paying for.

Your week in numbers
Records from the registers in this example: 206. Below, first, the ones that name somebody — the names are for subscribers; the rest unfolds.
What these numbers mean
- Building permits — applications to build, lodged with the local authority and published in the national register. Work being planned: the earliest public sign that a job is coming.
- Granted — how many of the newest permits carried here the authority has approved. A granted permit is work that is now allowed to start.
- Calls for tender — public bodies advertising work they want to buy: schools, roads, housing. The closing date has not passed, so these are the ones you can still win.
- Awarded contracts — contracts already awarded and signed, for works or architectural and engineering services. Too late to bid, but the record names the winning firm (shown to subscribers), and a winning firm may need subcontractors and suppliers.
